Anambra Agency Destroys ₦80 Million Worth of Illicit Drugs in Onitsha

The Anambra State Special Anti‑Touting Squad (SASA) has destroyed illicit drugs worth approximately ₦80 million during coordinated raids in Onitsha and other towns across Anambra State.
The operations, which targeted illegal drug dealers and traffickers, also covered towns including Nsugbe, Umuchu, Oba, Ojoto, Nkpor, and Nkwelle Ezunaka. Officials say the raids were part of the state’s ongoing effort to curb drug abuse and dismantle criminal networks.
Monday Nwokoye, SASA’s Managing Director, reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance policy on drug trafficking and abuse, warning that those involved in illegal drug activities would face strict legal action.
The seizures and destruction of the drugs underscore the state government’s commitment to public safety, security, and community well-being.
