The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). He succeeds Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to Delta State Command following his recent promotion.
The appointment, confirmed by police authorities, marks another significant career milestone for Hundeyin, who until now served as the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command.
Adejobi Redeployed After Promotion
DCP Adejobi, widely praised for his professional handling of police communications during his tenure, was promoted earlier this week and reassigned to Delta State Command to oversee operations.
Hundeyin’s Profile
CSP Hundeyin is a seasoned police officer and communications professional. He holds a degree in English Language from Lagos State University (LASU) and a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He is also a certified member of professional associations such as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
Having taken over as the Lagos State Police spokesperson in March 2022, Hundeyin is credited with improving police-community engagement through digital platforms and transparent crisis communication. His new appointment is expected to strengthen the Force’s public relations at the national level.
Police Statement
In announcing the transition, police authorities assured Nigerians of continued professionalism and transparency in the Force’s communication structure.
