He calls himself a political activist. Known earlier for his promotion of Ekiti South Development Agenda, he became a Deputy Governorship Candidate of the ADP in Ekiti State in 2022. However, before the governorship election, he decamped into the fold of the APC – a move that left ADP in quandary in the election. Though the ADP 2022 Governorship candidate, Kemi Elebute-Halle, has also joined the APC and is in perfect harmony with the party and its leadership, Comrade Idowu Afuye is not. He speaks without equivocation on his grouse with the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, and his administration.
