Dele Farotimi, a human rights lawyer, who has been in detention due to legal disputes involving senior lawyer Afe Babalola, over criminal defamation has been freed from prison in Ekiti State.

Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate under the African Action Congress (AAC), announced the news on his verified X account on Tuesday.Sharing the update, Sowore wrote, “I am delighted to report that Dele Farotimi has been released from the Ekiti State prison and is on his way back to Lagos.

The struggle continues! Wishing everyone a happy holiday season.”
