Governor Biodun Oyebanji has designated 2025 as a year of accelerated growth in Ekiti State, emphasizing the state’s trajectory toward shared prosperity.In his New Year broadcast, aired on radio and television, Governor Oyebanji congratulated residents for witnessing another year despite the economic and security challenges of 2024. He expressed gratitude for the easing of economic challenges toward the year’s end and significant improvements in the state’s security landscape.
Governor Oyebanji lauded the progress made under his administration, describing the past year’s developments as “phenomenally exciting.” He outlined plans for 2025, focusing on economic resurgence, infrastructure development, and improved government services.The governor announced plans to boost food production and enhance infrastructure across the state, positioning Ekiti for sustainable growth.
Oyebanji revealed that the Ekiti State Airport had been granted a six-month license by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to commence non-scheduled flights. Full operations are expected by June 2025, marking a significant milestone in the state’s economic development.
He expressed optimism for increased economic activities, higher income, and improved revenue for the state and the nation, aligning with the administration’s vision of making Ekiti an agro-allied export hub.The governor extended his gratitude to former leaders, traditional rulers, and federal government agencies for their support in driving the state’s development agenda. He also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s continuous assistance and interest in Ekiti’s progress.
