The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has officially resigned as the chairman of Oando Plc after an illustrious tenure spanning 18 years, including 12 years as board chairman.In a statement released by Ayotola Jagun, Oando’s company secretary, the monarch’s resignation took effect immediately following the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 17, 2024.

Ademola Akinrele has been appointed as the new chairman of Oando Plc. Akinrele, a distinguished legal expert, has served as a Non-Executive Director on the board and chaired the Governance & Nominations Committee.
Akinrele’s vast experience includes notable positions in Agip Plc and Danos & Curole Marine Contractors. With degrees from the University of Cambridge and University College London, Akinrele is recognized as a leading authority in commercial law, aviation, and maritime matters.
