CDS Declares 2025 as Year to End Insecurity in Nigeria

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has designated 2025 as a decisive year for eradicating insecurity across Nigeria.
During a visit to troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, General Musa emphasized the military’s commitment to combating banditry, terrorism, and other security challenges.
“This year, 2025, will be a decisive year for Nigeria’s security. We must make it the year we finally eradicate banditry, terrorism, and all forms of insecurity threatening our great nation,” he declared.
He commended the troops’ sacrifices in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and urged them to sustain their momentum. “Your bravery and determination are commendable, but we must not relent,” he said.
General Musa inspected weapons recovered by OPSH and reviewed a ceremonial guard of honour. He also participated in a push-up exercise with the troops to boost morale.
The CDS stressed the importance of intelligence gathering, stating, “Information is key to defeating our adversaries. We must always stay a step ahead.”
Troops under OPSH have been instrumental in reducing violence in Plateau and neighbouring states, with recent successes bolstering public confidence.General Musa reaffirmed the military’s readiness to neutralize threats and restore peace, stating, “We owe it to our people and our nation to win this fight.
Together, we will succeed.”
