Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has initiated the expulsion process for 49 Higher National Diploma (HND) final-year students after uncovering alleged fake National Diploma (ND) results during a verification exercise.

The students, from departments like Mass Communication, Computer Science, and Marketing, reportedly submitted falsified results from institutions such as The Polytechnic Ibadan and Federal Polytechnic Ilaro.

MAPOLY’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, confirmed that the verification was part of efforts to ensure the authenticity of admission documents. He stated that affected students would have an opportunity to defend their results before final decisions are made.

This development follows the polytechnic’s indefinite closure amid tensions between students and the Ogun State Government over a recent protest incident.
