Osun APC Dismisses Fake News, Directs Reinstated Chairmen and Councillors to Resume Work

By Damilola Adeleke

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked reports claiming that its leadership instructed reinstated local government chairmen and councillors not to resume work.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party described the report as false and an attempt by political adversaries to spread confusion. It reaffirmed that the Court of Appeal judgment delivered on February 10, 2025, legally reinstated the APC-elected officials and remains the foundation of their authority to resume office.

The party urged the reinstated chairmen and councillors to ignore the misleading information and proceed with resuming their duties at the local government secretariats across the state.

Expressing concern over alleged plans to disrupt peace at the local government offices, the APC called on the Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to remain vigilant and ensure law and order are maintained.

The party also warned parents and guardians to discourage their children from being used as political thugs, stating that there are no vacancies in the local government administration.

Reassuring its members, the APC emphasized that the opposition’s tactics would fail, urging all party members to remain steadfast and committed to upholding the rule of law.
