Osogbo – Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed security agencies to take immediate action to restore peace between the Ifon and Ilobu communities. He also urged the peace committee to revive ongoing peace efforts.
In response to the renewed conflict, the governor called on a joint security task force to intervene and halt the violence. He condemned the politicization of the crisis and instructed security forces to identify and prosecute the key instigators.
Governor Adeleke further emphasized the need for an immediate end to hostilities to safeguard lives and properties. Expressing frustration over repeated violations of peace agreements, he warned that his administration would take strict measures regarding the buffer zone between the two communities if the violence continues.
Currently, the governor is engaging in security and political discussions to find a lasting resolution to the crisis, which predates his administration.
