“I Was Beaten Mercilessly” — NANS President Accuses Seyi Tinubu of Orchestrating Abduction

By Damilola Adeleke

Atiku Abubakar Isah, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has accused Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and factional leader Ladoja Olusola of masterminding his abduction and brutal assault in Abuja.

In a statement released on Wednesday, April 16, Isah recounted how he was kidnapped by gun-wielding thugs, physically assaulted, stripped naked, and forced to make a coerced public statement at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) studio.

According to Isah, the attack was politically motivated following his overwhelming victory as NANS President at the association’s 125th convention. He alleged that Seyi Tinubu had since labeled him an “enemy” and had coordinated efforts to undermine his leadership.

Despite filing multiple petitions with the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies, Isah claimed no action was taken to protect him from ongoing threats. He expressed gratitude to Nigerian students and the public for their solidarity during his ordeal.

Vowing not to be intimidated, Isah reaffirmed his commitment to lead NANS fearlessly and protect the interests of Nigerian students nationwide.
