Jubilation as Ebonyi Governor Approves ₦150,000 Christmas Bonus for Workers

There was widespread jubilation among civil servants in Ebonyi State after Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru announced the approval of a ₦150,000 Christmas bonus for workers in the state.
The governor made the announcement during a church service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, describing the gesture as part of efforts to appreciate the commitment and resilience of the state workforce, especially in the face of economic challenges.
According to the governor, the Christmas bonus is aimed at easing the financial burden on workers during the festive season and improving their overall welfare. He noted that the decision reflects his administration’s commitment to prioritising the well-being of civil servants, despite prevailing economic pressures.
Governor Nwifuru also praised workers in the state for their dedication to duty and their contributions to governance and development, urging them to remain diligent and supportive of government programmes.
Following the announcement, workers across ministries, departments, and agencies expressed excitement and gratitude, describing the bonus as timely and encouraging. Many said the gesture would help them better prepare for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Ebonyi State Government has in recent times introduced various welfare initiatives targeted at improving the living conditions of public servants and boosting morale within the civil service.
