Kwankwaso Blasts El-Rufai, Calls Him “Expired Politician”
By Erewunmi Peace
A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr. Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has taken a swipe at former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, describing him as an “expired politician” whose influence has drastically declined.
Kwankwaso accused El-Rufai of resorting to blackmail and misinformation in a bid to remain relevant in Nigeria’s political space, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections. He warned the former governor against plotting to discredit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that his efforts would fail.
“El-Rufai is an expired politician trying to use desperate tactics and propaganda. Nigerians have outgrown those antics,” Kwankwaso said in a strongly worded statement.
The APC stalwart also referenced El-Rufai’s alleged involvement in the recent Kaduna bye-election, where his camp reportedly suffered a major defeat, as proof of his dwindling popularity.
Kwankwaso further cautioned party members to unite behind President Tinubu, stressing that El-Rufai’s political style belonged to the past and could no longer sway public opinion.
