By Erewunmi Peace

Six senior directors of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Defence have been abducted along the Kabba–Lokoja highway in Kogi State while traveling from Lagos to Abuja. Reports indicate the kidnapping occurred on 11 November 2025 as the officials were en route for a director-level promotion examination.

The victims, identified as Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor, Mrs. C. Emeribe, Mrs. Helen Ezeakor, Mrs. C. Ladoye, Mrs. J. Onwuzurike, and Mrs. Catherine Essien, are reported to be alive. The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a ransom of ₦150 million for the release of all six officials.

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has condemned the abduction and called for swift action to secure the victims’ release. Multiple Nigerian media outlets, including Vanguard, BusinessDay, and Premium Times, have confirmed the incident, though no official statement has yet been released by the Ministry of Defence.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and details of any ongoing rescue efforts remain limited.
