The Federal Government has disbursed a total of ₦2.45 trillion to state governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to support infrastructure development and security initiatives across the country.

According to official records from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), the funds were released between March 2024 and August 2025 as part of a special intervention programme funded from non-oil revenue savings.

The disbursement aims to address critical infrastructure deficits and strengthen security operations at the subnational level. The funds are expected to support projects such as road construction, public facilities, and other development initiatives in states nationwide.

The Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) confirmed the disbursement during its recent meetings, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving public infrastructure and enhancing security for citizens.

Officials have urged state governments to ensure that the funds are used transparently and efficiently to deliver tangible benefits to the populace.
