Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Ehigiator Arase, has reportedly passed away at the age of 69. Multiple credible media outlets have confirmed the news, stating that the former police chief died on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.

About Solomon Arase

Arase served as Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police from April 2015 to June 2016, during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. He was widely respected for his reforms in community policing, intelligence-driven operations, and his emphasis on professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force.
