Tinubu’s Aide Blasts Peter Obi: “No Blueprint, No Legacy” in Anambra Leadership

In a heated exchange reigniting the rivalry between two political heavyweights, Otega Ogra, a media aide to President Bola Tinubu, has publicly criticized former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over what he described as a lack of enduring impact during Obi’s time in office.
Responding to Obi’s recent dig at Tinubu’s Saint Lucia trip—which the former governor called “insensitive” amid Nigeria’s economic struggles—Ogra accused Obi of hypocrisy and poor governance planning during his tenure in Anambra.
“Peter Obi cannot point to a single sustaining legacy from his administration. No blueprint. No institutional framework. Just vibes and PR,” Ogra stated in a social media post that quickly gained traction.
Obi had earlier questioned the optics of Tinubu’s international travel, implying it showed detachment from the current struggles facing Nigerians. But Tinubu’s camp hit back, arguing that Obi, too, failed to provide a roadmap for economic growth or development during his leadership.
While the back-and-forth stirred intense debate online, some analysts view it as a reflection of Nigeria’s deepening political polarization ahead of the next election cycle.
Political observers say Obi remains a significant force in opposition politics, particularly among youth and urban voters. However, this latest clash shows that the Tinubu administration is ready to defend its turf fiercely.
As the war of words continues, Nigerians are left weighing legacies, leadership, and the pressing need for results over rhetoric.
