20-Year-Old Nigerian, Promise Adekola, Emerges High-Flying Doctor of Pharmacy Graduate in Cyprus

A shining example of academic brilliance and determination, 20-year-old Nigerian, Promise Ayomide Adekola, has made headlines after graduating as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Cyprus International University, achieving the milestone at an age when many are still finding their academic footing.

Adekola, who also earned a dual Master’s degree in Pharmacy in collaboration with University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, is being celebrated for her outstanding performance and trailblazing academic journey abroad.

“I joined the university at an early age and committed myself to intense study. I wanted to make my parents and Nigeria proud,” Adekola said in an earlier interview.

Despite being far from home, Adekola distinguished herself through discipline, hard work, and academic excellence. Her story has since gone viral on Nigerian media platforms, where many young people have found inspiration in her achievement.

Her success adds to the growing list of young Nigerians making waves in international universities across Europe and the Middle East. Though she was not a medical student, her feat in the field of pharmacy underscores the broad spectrum of Nigerian excellence in healthcare-related fields abroad.

Promise Adekola’s next steps are yet to be officially announced, but many anticipate that she will contribute meaningfully to global healthcare, research, or policy innovation in the years ahead.
