EFCC Questions Abuja Businesswoman Halimat Adenike Tejuosho Over Alleged Appointment Scam

By Erewunmi Peace

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has questioned Abuja-based businesswoman and NGO founder, Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, over allegations of involvement in an appointment and contract scam.

According to EFCC sources, Tejuosho was invited for interrogation following petitions alleging that she used forged documents and fake federal appointment letters to defraud unsuspecting individuals under the guise of facilitating government jobs and contracts.

The allegations further claim that she exploited her affiliation with a non-governmental organization to gain trust and convince victims of her alleged influence in government circles.

Tejuosho, however, has denied the accusations through her legal representatives. In a public statement, her lawyers described the reports as “false, malicious, and damaging,” insisting that no official charges have been filed against her. They emphasized that she was neither arrested nor detained but was only invited for questioning and later granted administrative bail.

“We urge the public to disregard the defamatory publications making rounds. Our client maintains her innocence and will explore all legal avenues to protect her name,” the statement read.

As of press time, the EFCC has not issued an official press release on the matter, but sources within the commission confirm that investigations are ongoing.

This development has sparked conversations online, with many calling for transparency and a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the appointment scam allegations.

Tejuosho, a well-known figure in Abuja’s business and philanthropic circles, is now at the center of growing public scrutiny.
