Former Militant Leader Tompolo Donates ₦10 Billion to Delta State Security Trust Fund

High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated a staggering ₦10 billion to the Delta State Security Trust Fund, in a move aimed at enhancing security across the state.

The announcement was made during the official launch of the Trust Fund at the Government House, Asaba, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The event was attended by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other prominent state officials.

Governor Oborevwori praised the contribution, describing it as a landmark collaboration between the public and private sectors to bolster security. He emphasized that the Trust Fund would be used to acquire modern surveillance technology, operational vehicles, and provide training and support for security operatives and community vigilante groups.

Tompolo, a former Niger Delta militant leader and philanthropist, expressed his commitment to peace and stability in the region. The donation is regarded as one of the largest private contributions to a state security initiative in Nigeria, reflecting his continued dedication to the development and safety of the Niger Delta communities.

The Delta State Security Trust Fund is expected to strengthen government efforts, improve community policing, and enhance rapid response capabilities, contributing to a safer environment for residents and businesses alike.
