Igbokwe Blasts IPOB Lawyer Ejiofor Over “Nepal Experience” Comment

By Erewunmi Peace

APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has slammed Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), over his recent remarks comparing Nigeria’s situation to the “Nepal experience.”

Ejiofor, in a recent statement, had cited corruption and youth-led revolts in Nepal as a cautionary example for Nigeria, warning that unchecked corruption could trigger similar unrest in the country.

Reacting, Igbokwe accused Ejiofor of making “dangerous” statements and alleged that the lawyer was indirectly promoting instability.

“After 10 years of bloodshed, this yeye lawyer is stylishly preaching Nepal experience in Nigeria,” Igbokwe wrote in a strongly worded post.

He argued that IPOB, through its activities and armed wings, had already contributed to insecurity in the South-East, and described Ejiofor’s remarks as hypocritical.

The exchange has stirred fresh debate on Nigeria’s political discourse, with some defending Ejiofor’s warning as a valid call for accountability, while others side with Igbokwe, condemning what they see as reckless rhetoric.

This clash adds to the long-running tensions between pro-Biafra advocates and mainstream political figures, especially amid ongoing discussions about insecurity, governance, and corruption in Nigeria.
