‘Step Aside Immediately’ – PDP Acting Chairman Sends Stern Warning to Disloyal Party Members

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum, has issued a firm warning to party members engaging in anti-party activities, urging them to “step aside immediately” to allow for their swift replacement.
The warning comes ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, as the party intensifies efforts to consolidate its structure and ensure loyalty within its ranks. Represented by the North Central Zonal Vice Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, Damagum delivered the message during the inauguration of the PDP campaign council for the FCT poll.
“If anyone feels they are not ready for this task, they should step aside immediately so that we can replace them without delay,” Damagum stated.
“There is no room for disloyalty or sabotage. This party belongs to the people, and we must protect its integrity.”
Damagum emphasized that the PDP would no longer tolerate members who work against the party’s interests during elections or undermine its unity through internal sabotage. He stressed that disciplinary actions would be taken against such individuals, as the PDP remains focused on reclaiming its political dominance.
The statement was directed especially at party members in the FCT and surrounding regions, where allegations of divided loyalty have reportedly surfaced in recent months.
Unity and Preparedness
As part of the party’s preparations, Damagum charged all members of the PDP campaign council to work tirelessly to ensure victory at the grassroots. He expressed confidence that with unity and discipline, the PDP would emerge victorious.
“The coming elections are crucial, and we need every committed hand on deck. This is a time for loyalty, hard work, and result-oriented strategies.”
This development underscores the PDP leadership’s growing resolve to reposition the party and flush out internal opposition as Nigeria inches closer to the 2027 general elections.
