Lagos politics has been thrown into mourning following the deaths of four female elected officials within a span of just two months after their inauguration.

Those who passed include Oluwakemi Rufai (Ibeju-Lekki), Zainab Adesewa Shotayo (Odiolowo-Ojuwoye), Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose (Vice Chairman, Badagry West LCDA), and Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan (Shomolu).

All four were reported to have died after a brief illness, raising public concern over the unusual frequency of the losses. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos has denied any political link, describing the deaths as tragic coincidences.

The successive deaths have sparked calls for thorough investigation, even as families and communities mourn their loss.
