Gunmen have allegedly killed a veterinary doctor in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with reports indicating that three of his children are still missing.
According to Daily Trust, the victim, identified as Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbo, was attacked in Kungabokun, a community near Kubwa, on Thursday night. Residents said the assailants stormed the area, after which the doctor’s body was later discovered. His three children were reportedly taken away by the attackers.
As of press time, the FCT Police Command has not issued an official statement confirming the details of the incident. Daily Trust reported that the police spokesperson could not be reached when contacted.
Dr. Ogbo, described as a respected veterinary doctor and a past chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), FCT Chapter, was well known in professional circles. His death has sparked shock and concern among colleagues and residents.
Local security sources told reporters that efforts are ongoing to trace the missing children, though no arrests have been confirmed.
This incident adds to growing concerns about insecurity in Abuja’s suburbs, where cases of kidnapping and violent attacks have been reported in recent months.
Authorities are yet to release an official update on the case.
