Wike Reacts to Death Rumours: “I’ll Sign Condolence Letters for Those Wishing Me Dead”

By Erewunmi Peace

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed widespread rumours about his health and alleged death, saying his political opponents are behind the false reports.

Wike, who spoke at a public event in Abuja, described the speculations as baseless and politically motivated. He insisted he was in good health and mocked those wishing him dead.

“They said I collapsed, they said I was flown abroad. All lies. For those wishing me dead, I will be the one to sign their condolence letters,” the Minister said.

The former Rivers State governor stressed that he remains committed to serving Nigerians in his current capacity and will not be distracted by false stories or blackmail.

Rumours about Wike’s health had circulated on social media earlier in the week, but the Minister’s public appearance and bold remarks have put the matter to rest.
