Sunday Igboho Calls on Government to Protect Igboho

Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has urged the Nigerian government to take urgent action following an alleged attack in Igboho town, Oyo State, that reportedly left two people dead.
In a statement circulated online, Igboho condemned the killings, attributing the incident to suspected Fulani assailants, and warned that he would return to defend his community if authorities fail to ensure the safety of residents.
“The government must protect our people. If they fail to act, I will return to take the necessary measures to safeguard our community,” Igboho was reported to have said.
The activist, known for his previous involvement in community security and anti-herders’ activities in southwestern Nigeria, has frequently called on both federal and state governments to address security challenges in the region.
While the incident has been reported in local news outlets and online discussions, major national news organizations have not yet independently confirmed the details of the attack or the casualties. Authorities have not released official statements on the matter.
The situation underscores ongoing concerns about security in southwestern Nigeria, particularly in areas affected by communal tensions and clashes between local residents and herders.
Analysts say that community leaders and government authorities will need to collaborate closely to prevent further violence and ensure the safety of citizens.
