The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently facing internal turmoil following the suspension of its National Vice Chairman for the South-South region, Dr. Usani Uguru Usani, and calls for the replacement of the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ms. Jackie Wayas.

The ADC’s Cross River State Working Committee (SWC) announced the suspension of Dr. Usani, citing alleged violations of the party constitution and actions deemed detrimental to the party’s unity and progress. The suspension is pending further investigation by the party’s internal disciplinary organs.

The SWC also expressed concerns over Ms. Jackie Wayas’s appointment as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, noting a lack of prior consultation with the state leadership. The committee claimed that Ms. Wayas has not effectively engaged with Cross River State leaders since assuming her role, raising questions about her loyalty and commitment to the party’s unity.

These developments underscore ongoing internal challenges within the ADC as the party seeks to navigate leadership disputes and maintain cohesion ahead of upcoming political engagements.

The party has yet to release an official statement addressing the broader implications of these actions.
