2027: Ex-Presidential Candidate Begins Nationwide Consultations, Meets Obasanjo, Babangida

A former presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has commenced nationwide political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, meeting with key national figures as part of the process.
As part of the consultations, Olawepo-Hashim recently held separate meetings with former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
The engagements are said to be focused on discussions about Nigeria’s political future, national unity, and security challenges.
According to reports, the former presidential candidate is engaging elder statesmen, political stakeholders, and opinion leaders across the country to seek guidance and build consensus ahead of the next election cycle.
Olawepo-Hashim, who contested in previous presidential elections, reportedly emphasized the need for strong leadership, improved security, and inclusive governance as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 polls.
While no formal declaration of candidacy has been made, the consultations are widely seen as part of early political groundwork ahead of the general elections.
