Osun 2026: 8 APC Governorship Aspirants pick form at N50m each

By Erewunmi Peace

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set the cost of its 2026 Osun State governorship nomination and expression-of-interest forms at ₦50 million, signaling the start of preparations for the party’s primary election.

Several aspirants have reportedly picked up the forms, with the list of interested candidates expected to grow as the party screens and approves aspirants for the contest. While some media reports suggest a sizeable field of up to 12 aspirants, the exact number of aspirants who have officially purchased the forms remains unverified.

The APC has tasked aspirants to submit their forms and complete all requirements before the screening exercise, which will determine eligibility for the governorship ticket.

Party elders recently issued guidelines urging aspirants to comply strictly with internal protocols before finalizing purchases. This move aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection process.

High-profile political figures, including former deputy governors and influential state politicians, are among those reportedly eyeing the APC ticket for Osun 2026.

The high cost of the forms — ₦50 million — has sparked discussions among political analysts and stakeholders about accessibility and the competitiveness of the primary election. Observers note that the APC is seeking to balance fairness, political influence, and financial commitment among aspirants.

The party’s leadership has not confirmed the exact number of aspirants who have collected the forms, but the process is expected to intensify in the coming weeks as the primary election date approaches.
