APC Disqualifies Omisore, Six Others Ahead of Osun Governorship Primary

By Erewunmi Peace

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Iyiola Omisore and six other aspirants from participating in the upcoming Osun State governorship primary. The decision was announced by the party’s Screening Committee, chaired by Obinna Uzoh, following the conclusion of the screening exercise on December 4, 2025.

According to the committee, the disqualified aspirants failed to meet the party’s constitutional requirements, including providing proof of sponsorship by at least five fully registered and financially up-to-date party members from each Local Government Area in Osun State.

Only two aspirants — Mulikat Abiola Jimoh and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji — were cleared to contest in the APC primary scheduled for December 13, 2025. Party officials emphasize that the process was conducted transparently and in accordance with party guidelines.

Reactions from the disqualified aspirants are awaited, as party members and political watchers await the final outcome of the primary.
