Tinubu Reportedly Reshuffles Finance Ministry, Revenue PowersLinked to Minister of State

By Erewunmi Peace

There are growing reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved an internal reshuffling within the Federal Ministry of Finance, a move that may affect the responsibilities of Finance Minister Wale Edun.

According to multiple media reports and sources familiar with the development, key revenue-related functions of the ministry are being reassigned to the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.

These responsibilities are said to include oversight of revenue-generating agencies and coordination of fiscal inflows.

While the development has been interpreted by analysts as a possible reduction in Wale Edun’s direct control over revenue matters, there has been no official statement from the Presidency or the Ministry of Finance confirming the details of the reported changes.

The reports come amid ongoing public discussions about Nigeria’s revenue performance and fiscal management, following recent comments by the Finance Minister acknowledging challenges in meeting revenue targets.

As of the time of filing this report, government authorities have not issued a formal clarification, and observers are awaiting an official announcement to confirm the scope and intent of the reported restructuring.
