Gunmen Abduct 28 Travellers in Plateau State

Plateau State has once again been hit by a violent kidnapping incident as armed men abducted 28 travellers on Sunday night. The incident took place in Zak community, Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area.
Details of the Abduction
The victims, including men, women, and children, were reportedly on their way to attend an Islamic Maulud event in Sabon Layi community when their vehicle was ambushed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the kidnappers abandoned the vehicle by the roadside after seizing the passengers.
Security Response
The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the abduction and launched an investigation into the incident. Police detectives, alongside community vigilantes, have been deployed to trace the abductors and secure the release of the victims.
Authorities also disclosed that initial reports suggest the kidnappers have demanded ransom, though official confirmation is pending. Security agencies are working to ensure the safe return of all the travellers.
