Bauchi Government Closes Major Roads Ahead of President Tinubu’s Condolence Visit

By Erewunmi Peace

Bauchi State Government has announced the temporary closure of several major roads in Bauchi City ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s condolence visit to the family of the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi. The closures, scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025, are aimed at ensuring security, smooth traffic flow, and public safety during the high-profile visit.

Key roads surrounding the late Sheikh’s mosque and other strategic areas in the city will be inaccessible to motorists from approximately 1 pm to 6 pm. The government has urged residents and commuters to plan alternative routes, cooperate with traffic authorities, and avoid the restricted zones.

This measure is part of the state’s broader security plan to manage large crowds and facilitate the President’s engagement with the bereaved family and community members. Authorities have also appealed for peaceful conduct and understanding from residents during the period.

The visit underscores the late Sheikh’s significant influence in Bauchi and across Nigeria, reflecting his role in religious leadership and community development.

Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels for updates on traffic diversions and related security arrangements.
