President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated a high-powered All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation to address internal disputes within the ruling party and strengthen cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee is chaired by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, with prominent figures including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Governor Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Governor Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), and former Governor Yahaya Bello, among others, serving as members.
According to official statements, the committee’s mandate is to:
Resolve internal conflicts and disputes within the APC.
Develop strategies and mobilise stakeholders to prepare for the 2027 elections.
Promote unity, inclusion, and collaboration among all party factions.
President Tinubu, speaking during the inauguration, emphasised the importance of cohesion, dialogue, and broad participation within the party. He urged members to engage constructively and avoid actions that could undermine the APC’s stability or electoral prospects.
The formation of the committee comes amid calls from party leaders and stakeholders to address rising internal tensions and ensure that all voices within the party are heard, particularly ahead of the next general elections.
With this initiative, the APC leadership aims to strengthen its organisational structure, reduce factional disputes, and ensure a unified front as it prepares for nationwide elections in 2027.
