Governors Getting More Money, Confesses Oborevwori

By Erewunmi Peace

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has acknowledged that states are now receiving increased funds from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), urging his colleagues to utilize the money to deliver tangible projects for their citizens.

Speaking during an event in Ughelli North, Delta State, Governor Oborevwori noted that contrary to claims of financial hardship, recent economic reforms have boosted allocations to states, providing governors with greater fiscal capacity.

He encouraged state leaders to prioritize development projects and citizen welfare, emphasizing that the improved revenue situation should translate into visible improvements in infrastructure and public services.

Oborevwori’s statement highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, urging governors to demonstrate responsible stewardship of resources for the benefit of their people.

The governor’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about fiscal management and the equitable distribution of resources among Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
