APC Issues Ultimatum for Compulsory Electronic Membership Registration

By Erewunmi Peace

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that all its members must complete electronic membership registration or risk losing their status within the party.

The directive was issued by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yelwata, during the party’s national caucus meeting held in Abuja. According to the party leadership, the electronic registration exercise is now mandatory for all members nationwide.

The APC stated that the move is aimed at improving data accuracy, transparency, and internal democracy within the party. Party officials explained that the electronic system would help eliminate duplication, impersonation, and irregularities associated with the old manual membership register.

Members have been given a deadline to comply with the directive, after which unregistered individuals may no longer be officially recognized as party members.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions among party members and political observers. While some have welcomed the development as a step toward modernization, others have raised concerns about accessibility, especially for members in rural areas with limited access to digital tools.

The APC leadership, however, assured members that adequate measures would be put in place to ensure a smooth and inclusive registration process across the country.
