The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that a total of 2,685,725 Nigerians have completed voter registration under the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise nationwide.
According to INEC, Osun State continues to lead with 208,357 new registrants, followed by Kano, Sokoto, and Imo states. The figures reflect fully completed registrations, including both online pre-registrations and in-person captures at designated centres.
INEC also noted that youths and women are leading in participation, showing strong engagement in the country’s democratic process. The commission emphasized that the CVR remains ongoing, and a subsequent claims and objections period will follow as part of the verification process.
“We are encouraged by the enthusiasm of Nigerians, especially young voters, to register and exercise their democratic rights,” an INEC official said, adding that the commission continues to ensure a smooth and transparent registration process across the country.
The commission called on eligible citizens who have yet to register to take advantage of the remaining registration period to ensure their participation in future elections.
