The Lagos State Police Command has reportedly invited Pastor Chris Okafor to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, following allegations circulating on social media regarding his conduct.

Police Action

According to official statements, Pastor Okafor was served an invitation letter through his legal representatives to assist the police in clarifying claims that have been widely shared online.

The Commissioner of Police directed the SCID to carry out a preliminary fact-finding exercise to verify the authenticity of the allegations.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and aims to determine whether any criminal acts occurred.

A spokesperson for the Lagos State Police said:

“We are aware of online allegations against Pastor Chris Okafor.

The police have invited him to provide information. All claims are being properly assessed to ensure due process is followed.”

The Police Public Relations Officer has cautioned the public against spreading unverified reports, noting that not all circulating claims about a formal investigation into sexual misconduct have been confirmed.

The statement clarified that the action is part of standard police procedure whenever allegations are brought to their attention, and it does not imply any presumption of guilt.
