Five Feared Killed as Suspected Bandits Attack National Park Service Office in Oyo

At least five people are feared dead following an attack by suspected bandits on an office of the National Park Service (NPS) in Oyo State.

The attack reportedly occurred on Tuesday night at the National Park Service facility located in Oloka, Oriire Local Government Area, where armed men stormed the premises and opened fire on personnel.

Sources confirmed that several officers of the National Park Service were killed during the assault, while others sustained injuries. Properties at the facility were also damaged before the attackers fled the scene.

Security agencies, including the Oyo State Police Command, have since deployed tactical teams, mobile police units, and other security operatives to the area to restore calm and prevent further attacks.

The police described the assailants as yet-to-be-identified armed men, while investigations are ongoing to determine their identities and motive.

Authorities assured residents that security presence around the affected area has been strengthened, urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing useful information.

As of the time of filing this report, official confirmation of the exact casualty figure is still being awaited.
