Omisore Reacts to Disqualification, Urges Supporters to Remain Calm

Senator Iyiola Omisore has reacted to reports of his disqualification from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship screening process in Osun State, calling the decision “deeply flawed” and urging his supporters to remain calm while the appeal process continues.
Omisore, alongside six other aspirants, was disqualified by the APC Screening Committee over alleged failure to meet the required number of fully-registered and financially up-to-date party members sponsoring their nomination.
He rejected the report, describing it as “the jokiest document of the year,” insisting that he met all necessary conditions and would challenge the decision through the party’s internal mechanisms.
In a statement issued through his media team, Omisore appealed to party members and supporters to avoid unnecessary reactions and maintain peace pending the outcome of the appeal. He emphasized his commitment to the party and expressed confidence that justice would prevail.
Meanwhile, a Facebook post circulated earlier claiming that Omisore instructed supporters to boycott the APC delegates election. However, no credible mainstream news outlets have confirmed this claim, and his official statement directed supporters to stay calm—not to stay away from party activities.
The APC is yet to release further comments on the controversy as tensions grow ahead of the party’s primary election in Osun State.
