Folarin Calls for Probe Into Alleged Shooting at APC Unity Rally in Ogbomoso

By Erewunmi Peace

Senator Teslim Folarin, a prominent political leader in Oyo State, has called for a full investigation into an alleged shooting incident during the All Progressives Congress (APC) unity rally held in Ogbomoso.

The senator expressed concern over reports that a commercial motorcyclist may have been shot during the event.

He urged security agencies to conduct a comprehensive probe to establish the facts and ensure accountability.

“It is important that the circumstances surrounding this incident are thoroughly investigated. Violence has no place in our political activities,” Folarin said in a statement.

Folarin emphasized that neither the APC nor the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political group he leads, condones any form of violence during political gatherings.

He called on all stakeholders to promote peace and unity within the party ahead of upcoming political events.

The call for investigation comes amid heightened efforts by political leaders in Oyo State to maintain calm and prevent conflict during party rallies, particularly in regions with active political engagement.

Authorities have yet to release an official report on the incident, but Folarin’s statement underscores the need for prompt action and transparency to ensure public confidence in the safety of political events.
