I won’t quit PDP for any party – Governor Makinde

By Erewunmi Peace

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has dismissed rumours suggesting that he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking amid growing political speculations, Makinde made it clear that he remains committed to the PDP and has no intention of joining the ruling APC or leaving his party.

The governor described the defection rumours as unfounded and misleading, stressing that his political focus remains on governance and delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo State.

“I have no plans to join the APC or leave the PDP,” Makinde stated, firmly denying the claims circulating in some quarters.

His reaction comes at a time when Nigeria’s political landscape has witnessed several high-profile defections, fueling speculation about the possible movement of other prominent politicians ahead of future elections.

Makinde, however, reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, emphasizing that his priority is strengthening governance and supporting the party’s ideals rather than engaging in political speculation.
