Fayemi Calls on Ekiti APC Members to Mobilise for Oyebanji’s Re-election

By Erewunmi Peace

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to begin early mobilisation ahead of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election bid.

Fayemi made the call while addressing party stakeholders, stressing the need for unity, commitment, and sustained grassroots engagement to ensure the APC retains power in the 2026 governorship election.

According to him, Governor Oyebanji’s administration has demonstrated continuity, stability, and inclusive governance, which he described as critical to the state’s development.

Fayemi noted that the governor’s leadership style aligns with the core values of the APC and the vision laid down by previous administrations.

The former governor cautioned party members against internal divisions and complacency, emphasizing that early mobilisation and cohesion within the party would be key to electoral success. He encouraged APC members across wards and local government areas to strengthen party structures and remain actively engaged with the electorate.

Fayemi also appealed to party leaders to promote peaceful politics and avoid actions that could weaken the party’s chances in the forthcoming election.

Governor Oyebanji, who was elected in 2022, is expected to seek a second term in office.

His administration has received endorsements from several APC stakeholders, who have praised his approach to governance and party management.

The call by Fayemi adds to growing internal support within the APC for Oyebanji’s re-election, as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2026 polls.
