The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly invited Labour Party vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, for questioning over what security sources describe as “inciting public comments.”

According to multiple national newspapers, the invitation follows Datti’s recent remarks criticising the Nigerian judiciary, military, and the overall handling of national affairs by the current administration. Although the DSS has not released an official public statement, insiders say the invitation is part of a broader effort to prevent political tensions from escalating.

Sources within the security community told journalists that the DSS intends to clarify the intent behind Datti’s comments, which they believe could potentially incite unrest if misinterpreted by supporters or the public.
