Dangote Offers Credit Facility to Oil Marketers

By Erewunmi Peace

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has launched a credit facility aimed at supporting oil marketers across Nigeria.

The initiative is part of the refinery’s broader strategy to ease fuel distribution and improve access for marketers nationwide.

Under the new scheme, qualified marketers can purchase fuel directly from the refinery on short-term credit. This allows them to improve cash flow while ensuring steady supply to their customers.

The facility also comes with reduced minimum order quantities, now as low as 250,000 litres, making it easier for smaller marketers to participate.

In addition, Dangote Refinery plans to facilitate free fuel delivery to marketers, further reducing logistical costs and enhancing distribution efficiency.

The refinery has also adjusted its ex-depot petrol price to ₦699 per litre, supported by the credit facility to make fuel more accessible.

Industry analysts have described the move as a game changer for Nigeria’s downstream sector, highlighting its potential to improve market liquidity, stabilize prices, and reduce dependence on importers.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s efforts reflect its ongoing commitment to transform Nigeria’s petroleum supply chain, supporting marketers while delivering affordable fuel to consumers nationwide.
