Shock in Ogun as Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Commits Suicide Hours Later

Ogun State residents were left in shock following a tragic incident in River Valley Estate, where a man, Ayoola Ayanwale, allegedly killed his wife, Ganiyat Ayobami Ayanwale, on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
According to police reports, the couple’s three children were reportedly present during the attack. After the incident, neighbors and law enforcement launched a manhunt for Ayoola Ayanwale.
The following day, his body was discovered in the Sotubo area, showing signs consistent with suspected suicide. Investigations are ongoing.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident and assured that the case is under investigation, while the children have been placed under the care of relatives.
This tragic event has sparked conversations about domestic violence and the urgent need for support systems to protect vulnerable families.
