INEC Warns Nigerians Against Fake Ad-Hoc Staff Recruitment Portal

By Erewunmi Peace

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has raised the alarm over a fake online portal claiming to recruit ad-hoc staff on behalf of the commission.

In a statement released on Tuesday, INEC described the website as fraudulent and misleading, warning members of the public to disregard and avoid the platform.

According to the commission, the fake portal is not affiliated with INEC and was created to deceive unsuspecting applicants.
INEC clarified that it does not charge any fees for ad-hoc staff recruitment and advised Nigerians not to submit personal or financial information on unofficial websites.

The electoral body emphasized that recruitment of ad-hoc staff is carried out only through its official platforms, including the INEC Presiding Officers Recruitment System (INECPRES), when elections are approaching.

“The commission wishes to inform the general public that the online portal being circulated for ad-hoc staff recruitment is fake and should be ignored,” the statement read.

INEC further urged citizens to always verify information through its official website and social media channels, adding that necessary steps are being taken to address the fraudulent activity.

Members of the public are advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious recruitment links to the appropriate authorities.
