The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Ufoma Joseph Immanuel, the Managing Director of Chappal Energies and Chappal Petroleum Development Company, wanted over alleged involvement in fraud and forgery.

In a public notice released by the anti-graft agency, Immanuel is accused of obtaining money by false pretence and engaging in acts of forgery connected to financial transactions handled by his company.

According to the EFCC, Immanuel’s last known address is 77 Nelson Mandela Street, Maitama, Abuja. The commission is urging members of the public with relevant information on his whereabouts to contact any of its offices nationwide.

The EFCC said the wanted notice came after investigators reportedly uncovered documents and transactions linked to suspicious financial dealings involving the Chappal Energies chief.

This development adds to the growing list of corporate executives under investigation for financial crimes as the EFCC intensifies its crackdown on economic offences in the oil and gas sector.
