‘This Is Unacceptable’ – Gov. Sanwo-Olu Vows To Shame Vendors Who Cancel Bookings For Higher Bids

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has condemned hotels, restaurants, and event vendors that cancel confirmed bookings in favor of clients willing to pay higher fees, describing the practice as “unacceptable.”
Speaking ahead of the Detty December festive season, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that agreements and deposits must be honored, warning that reneging on bookings undermines trust and damages Lagos’s reputation as a top tourism and entertainment destination.
The Governor directed the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) to investigate complaints and take action against offenders. He also vowed that businesses violating these regulations would be named, shamed, and sanctioned.
