19-Year-Old Nigerian Emerges Valedictorian at KNUST with First-Class in Computer Engineering

A 19-year-old Nigerian, Isaac J. Oniti, has made headlines after graduating with a First-Class degree in Computer Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, becoming the overall best graduating student (Valedictorian) of the Class of 2024.
According to multiple education reports, Oniti entered KNUST at the age of 15 and completed his program with an impressive Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 87.23%, a record-breaking performance that earned him the top spot among thousands of graduating students.
Oniti reportedly completed 55 courses during his studies and is said to have excelled in all, reflecting his consistent dedication and brilliance throughout his academic journey.
While some media platforms describe him as the youngest valedictorian in KNUST’s history, this detail has yet to be officially confirmed by the university.
The young scholar’s achievement has drawn widespread admiration across Nigeria and Ghana, inspiring many young Africans with a message of discipline, focus, and academic excellence.
